The expansion and diversification of field MH (mental health) programs transformed the landscape of relief work and revealed both the lack of conceptual frameworks and evidenced-based practices. Recognition of accomplishments is offset by controversies surrounding understanding MH needs in complex emergencies. Incorporation of recovery-oriented paradigms shifts emphasis from individual to community, where the success of individual psychological recovery is largely determined by community supports providing secure sense of self, supportive relationships, empowerment, social inclusion, and meaning[1]. Proposed model aims to achieve the sustainable community-level impact by strengthening community recovery resources and by sensitizing community to the needs of vulnerable groups.
